drowning in socks

20 September 2006

It’s all socks all the time chez Frarochvia.

Unless I’m walking five miles (Really. Turns out the library is 2.56 miles away. This makes me happy. Both that I’ve somewhere to walk to and acquire shiny things for free at, and that I’m healthy enough to walk five miles every other day. Hopefully soon five every day!)

Or being busy studiously not killing the Picasso. True, he heavily loved on me tonight, but there was yesterday where he put the cling in saran wrap.

Socks. I think about which pair to knit next. I think about the walking anklets I need. (Not a want. A sincere need. The absolute-lack-of-anything kind of need.) I think about needing to finish the Koigu socks by Friday night, so I don’t freeze on Saturday at the apple festival.

I think about how funny it is one Koigu sock has a thick psuedo-striping pooling going on, and the other sock has thin ones. Fraternal socks! Fun. And how relieved I am that I’m past the heel turn and am now in stockinette leg land…

I think about how it’s really probably a good thing Picasso is too cute to turn into slippers.

I think about knitting the worsted yarn I got from dyeorama, but with what size needles and wouldn’t I benefit more from socks I can wear with shoes right now, even though they’d be fast? And I need slipper socks? Should the next pair I knit be dk weight? Or should I focus on the socks I’ve got on the needles? Even though the two circular socks sort of should stay backpack socks, because of the circulars and all. But it’s got half the foot done… And the Lorna’s Laces won’t be fast and I need more than the one solitary pair of socks. Koigu? Regia? Cashmerino baby? Lion Brand? The gorgeous stuff mrspao sent, with her pattern? The yarns from Dave? Maybe that sport weight…

Aieeeeeeeeeeee.

Socks. Sockly decisions.

What would you do?
