the things I do for socks
21 September 2006In the pursuit of sockly wearings and five mile walks, I’ve…. Well…

I did this on purpose.
If you consider removing a toenail as curved as a claw optional. I had an ingrown toenail procedure done on both toes last year and the right toe got cellulitis, the toenail then detached due to baba’s jumping on the toe, and I had to have it removed.
Sexy, no?
Fast forward a year later and it was growing back all right, but was groving back completely curved, and was becoming ingrown at the very top of the toenail. So I had to see the toe doctor.
It was cramping my style. I want to have daily five mile walks and lots of sockwearing and feetly happiness. And I will. Eventually. Because the toenail is gone forever, being too scarred and screwed up and curved to be allowed to come back.
In the short term? Woohoo! I only need one sock for this weekend and it’s done!

Oh, Fra, Fra, Fra…I hope you have the Head Minion handy. And that Tiff is on the ready for chats. Feel better, I know how important MY long walks are. (I still have all my toes and attached toe nails.)
Ow!!! Hmm, can you get a toenail prosthetic for sandal season?!
I’m no stranger to ingrown toenail surgery, having had one toe done four times and the other twice. I hope you’re back to normal soon!
Oh no – you poor thing! Hope it all gets sorted!
Owwie! I had trouble with one of my toenails for about two years, but it finally sorted itself out. Do you wear a toecap while it grows out, etc? I did that, and it helped (with the pain, too!). Glad you got a sock done. : )
