October Magknits

Frarochvia: Very cute bag. I could see knitting it for a beeb. For you know, the perfect victim-child-of-a-knitter trick or treat bag! Otherwise no. And that’s ok. I doubt this bag was meant as more than that.

Tiphanie: it’s cute. For a kid yes, but eh. I wouldn’t bother knitting this. I’m afraid that if I knit one for a kid, the kid would lose it within 10 minutes.

Frarochvia: Well for trick or treat night, if you wanted to be an overachieving mom and then put it away for the next year.

Tiphanie: Definitely for a Martha wannabe who takes time out to paint pumpkins and carve fancy shit on a pumpkin instead of just doing plain ole fashioned triangle eyes and a jagged smile.

Frarochvia: I love it though, but yeah I wonder if I’d do it. I saw a fancy pumpkin in Woman’s Day. Gramma gave it to me! I don’t buy that stuff! And I felt outclassed.

Tiphanie: I subscribe to Ladies Home Journal. I didn’t ask for it!

Frarochvia: I read that too. Only because gramma gives me that too.

Tiphanie: It’s something that a Martha mother would do. Overachieving soccer mom who used to be a corporate lawyer.

Frarochvia: Haha. Hopefully not you, right? ;)

Mitered Square Skirt

Tiphanie: Good thing it’s kid sized. I can’t imagine it on an adult. Anything is forgivable on a child.
Frarochvia: I agree it’s good on a kid. It’s cute. Definitely not for adults, I’d think.

Tiphanie: i want to do mitered squares with leftover sock yarns. But a skirt? Eh. Maybe a blanket but a skirt? I just can’t see myself wearing a mitered skirt.

Frarochvia: Hey once the kid outgrows the skirt she can felt it.

Tiphanie: You and your felting fetish.

Halweh

Tiphanie: it’s sweet

Frarochvia: I don’t get this top. Sorry.

Tiphanie: it’s cute. I like it.

Frarochvia: I like it without the lace. I really dislike that lace.

Tiphanie: Hey, at least it’s not a clown baby outfit. You do know I hate clowns?

Frarochvia: Hate the collar sorry.

Tiphanie: Hmm. It does look like a clown collar.

Frarochvia: Clowns are evil. Stephen King said so. Clowns are not optional. They are evil.

Tiphanie: I guess I like delicate lace collars.

Frarochvia: The collar, yeah. Maybe a picot collar. Or a very thin lace collar. Too thick lace. Maybe that’s the problem. The collar is made from the same yarn as the body.

Tiphanie: I would need to see it in person

Frarochvia: Too Kountry maybe. The collar should be a thinner yarn in my opinion.

Tiphanie: Hmm. You know what? I would love this if lace’s applied to the sleeves and to the hem. Ruffles.

Frarochvia: That’d definitely be cute. With a rolled neck. Less for baby to drool on.

Tiphanie: It would make a nice bib I admit. Bonus! It goes all way around the neck!

Squiggle Shawl

Tiphanie: Okay, I love the idea and I love the shawl. BUT…why submit this pattern?

Frarochvia: It’s inspired by Mason-Dixon. In Mason-Dixon, the scarf was horizontal.

Tiphanie: right. I can do this too if I think about it and select certain yarns, so it’s not exactly novel or innovative. Yes, I remember Mason-Dixon. The curtains and the ballerina scarf if it’s what it’s called. Anyway, I remember seeing the curtains and thinking, oh I could make a scarf.

Frarochvia: The scarf is squiggle in the book too

Tiphanie: Yeah. I can’t exactly credit the “designer” with this idea as it’s not exactly an innovation.

Frarochvia: I agree with not being sure why this is a pattern, because it’s uh, exactly the same as Mason-Dixon except flipped to be knit the long way.

Tiphanie: I do wonder about it. Lovely shawl and I wouldn’t mind knitting this. But I’m just going to make the pattern up.

Funnel Neck

Tiphanie: Um. I don’t get it. She doesn’t want to knit a simple pullover.

Frarochvia: So she knits a simple pullover! ;-) That part made me laugh.

Frarochvia: I like her raglan sleeve thing. I think it’s cute. The double eyelet thing.

Tiphanie: Not me. I don’t like it. Nope.

Frarochvia: Someone is cranky.

Tiphanie: I don’t like double eyelets. Don’t like the sleeves. Yes, I’m a cranky knitter.

Frarochvia: I like the looks of the eyelet rows. But I wouldn’t knit it because I need foundational garments.

Tiphanie: So line it with silk.

Frarochvia: No, I wouldn’t knit this. I probably would gag myself with a needle. It’s K1P1. Automatically disqualified. Plus I hate the short sleeved thing. I don’t get short sleeved sweaters.

Tiphanie: But you like the double eyelets.

Frarochvia: Yeah. Aesthetically it’s cool. I think I like it because of the ribbing in between it.

Tiphanie: Get a knitting machine.

Frarochvia: I should. K1p1. Ugh. Looks great, but ugh, knitting it.

Whitewater wristwarmers

Frarochvia: I like the wrist warmers. I wish there were better pictures.

Tiphanie: Me too. What’s up with the boxing pose? I need to see the thumb gussets.

Frarochvia: Yeah. The boxing meh. But it looks good what I can see of it. This woulda been a good first circular project for us…Intentionally twisted stitches!

Tiphanie: Hee.

Frarochvia: Crap. Only one picture. Gonna see her blog.

Tiphanie: No blog. Just her email. Spam her baby.

SUSY

Tiphanie: Aiee! 1980’s back!!! Noo! Nooo! NO LEGGINGS!

Frarochvia: I like the cabling. The color, no. The length, no.

Tiphanie: Color easy to change. Who cares?

Frarochvia: It’d be a good sweater vest if you chopped off the stuff on the bottom.

Tiphanie: I like it anyway, even the length. It would make a sexy top if you wear it with a clingy skirt. Maybe dark red top with black long skirt.

Frarochvia: True.

Tiphanie: Or if the gal’s daring, she can just wear Susy with thigh boots. I like it.

Frarochvia: Pink. Hot Pink.

Tiphanie: It would look cute with a slinky skirt. Wish I could see the collar.

Frarochvia: Hot pink. Frarochvia’s answer to everything.

Tiphanie: You need to broaden your horizons.

Frarochvia: With a straight leather skirt and knee-high boots. I look good in pinks!

Tiphanie: Your pink obsession.

Frarochvia: I am obsessed with all colors.

Tiphanie: No. Just pinks.
