fresh out
12 October 2006Of ideas. I have been feeling fuzzy today, like my brain forgot to brush its teeth. That sort of happens with migraine meds.
I did turn the heels on both socks! Wheeeeeeeeee. I’m gonna do the legs in stockinette, I think, because I seriously want them done by Sunday night. Not too much pressure on myself I hope, getting a pair done in a week. Why is it so important to finish them by then? Because I have a job interview Monday afternoon and would like to wear a pair of simple but nicely neutral socks that nonetheless have that handpainted handknit flair… And maybe, just maybe, handknits are a very good thing. A security blanket. An ooooo I love the socks feeling. Maybe I’m weird.
I’m ok with that.
Tiphanie and I are going back and forth about what I should mini-splurge on for my first knitiversary. I am thinking about three skeins of Koigu to make knee highs with, two of a mottled one and one of a solid coordinating color for the toes, heels, and cuffs. The most realistic suggestion Tiffany came up with was for a couple balls of Noro silk garden lite for a pair of knee highs.
Sockly, no?
What do you think? What would you pick?

The boys think I’d have more fun if I’d just get in the tub with them.

Bummer about the migraine… Are you doing better? Knit like the wind!! Sock security blanket for the interview.
Hmm. First knitiversary. I’d maybe think about a commemorative knit book or somesuch. Or a little hank of cashmere for a lacy scarf maybe?
Koigu!!!! And not just because I’m a koigu hussy, either. Well, maybe a little bit.
“I have been feeling fuzzy today, like my brain forgot to brush its teeth.” Dang. That’s the perfect description of fuzzy-brainedness.
I think that for your first knitiversary, you should by the catzen another bowl. At least, that’s what they would tell you.
Well, it is Socktoberfest month; how timely. Happy first Knitiversary!
Hope you are feeling better now (hug)
