While Chris is right and one cannot fail if one does not post goals, somehow I can’t resist. I just can’t. It was fun to challenge myself (you know, in the lucid moments afforded me) the last two months, and I’m going to do so again, more publicly this time.
Additionally, the goals serve the purpose of helping me be sure to be better prepared for next winter. I had a bare minimum of supplies last winter, and I really think it’s much easier to simply plan to knit one neckwarmer and one set of gloves, for example, every two months. No last minute frantic knitting… and next winter I can finally rotate (and perhaps more importantly… layer!) my knitwear.
My poor socks! Washed and worn and reworn and reworn and finally washed again, so sparse was my sockly stash… next winter will be different!
Goals! I’d like to knit a pair of socks for each of the Project Spectrum colors, and a bonus pair of socks in worsted. Here, I’m considering two different Koigus, one in a darker tealy/emerald green and black, and the other in practically screaming pinks and greens and other pastels and some yellows. I should call them the peep socks. Just to irritate Tipahanie. I also put out some Knit Picks Memories in a long discontinued colorway, I think mesa. No, not strictly bright yellow, but I think these count… Oh yeah, and finishing the pink and black socks.
The worsted socks… you’ll just have to wait and see.
I’d like to knit a neckwarmer, whoops, forgot to set out the yarn for that, but Chris sent me some hand dyed pink wool and I can’t resist! And a pair of fingerless mitts. I’ve got a ball of Noro Cash Iroha that’s been patiently waiting in the stash for over a year, waiting to become those mitts in Last Minute Knitted Gifts.

And perhaps even a sweater. Either Ariann or Sitcom Chic, I can’t decide, though I sure know which one Tiphanie prefers. This is another Chris stash enhancement, with six balls of Lion Brand Cotton Ease in a color I think of as jadeite green. I sort of kind of would like to eke out a sweater out of five balls and a hat out of the sixth. Not sure how to swing that…
How about starting Icarus? Tiphanie sent me some Knit Picks Gossamer in Caribbean. And a pink bucket hat in Sugar ‘n Cream. A fun scarf or two. A serious winter scarf. Maybe the Argosy wrap in three different colors of Noro Silk Garden…
I have no idea if I’d do it all. Or if I even can. But I’ll sure try.
But unalike Tiphanie, I’m still mostly a one project at a time knitter. I notice that, at most, I have two, and the second is invariably a pair of socks.
