pretty much in name only

17 April 2007

More frightening organization to share with you today, boys and girls. I’m sorry.

Today, we’ll visit my linen closet, which is, as the title of the post says, one pretty much in name only. OTHER people pile unorganized jumbles of linens in theirs. I… well, I don’t.

The lower part of the closet has sixteen (that number again!) small plastic drawers, all carefully labeled of course. My pharmacy resides here, as does my hearing aid, random glasses, all the camera stuff, the game boy stuff, and many many other things. In nicely sorted drawers. Yes.

Above it is the area that Matisse keeps trying to get into, because he thinks he can fit into the baskets. Take it from me – no. Just… no. He doesn’t.

At the top of the closet is the shelf of towels, oh, how artistic! And then below that, my books. Hm. Let’s take a closer look at these…

Do you think the Rebecca has a small interest in organization? And in interior design?

This is the shelf where little things go… including my buttons! And my circular needles!

I’m sorry if I’ve deeply frightened you. Just think, there’s one more closet to go.

  1. Have you considered doing closet organization professionally? I’m thinking you’ll drop dead when you step into my place. :)

  2. I *adore* it. But then, I’m obsessive that way. I think it’s fabulous!!! :) :)

  3. Organization and Gorbachev. I thought I was organized. I’m afraid you’d fall over if you saw my place.

  4. Not scary at all, beautiful! I’ve not seen drawers with colors other than primary or pastels for kids, I like yours.

  5. Very cool! I’ve discovered that the only way I can keep things where they belong is if they go in boxes with labels. I have recently purchased a label maker and am in mad love with it!

  6. Mmm. I should show D your system. I’m still in love with your system. Of course I have to uh justify purchases of plastic boxes, etc. Drats.

  7. Hi! I have terrible closet troubles so I admire your skillz very much. Do you mind me asking where you bought those fabulous drawers? Please share your products! :)
