Of all my hats, this one may be the one I have the most irrational love for, if only because it is neutral and season spanning.
Not bad for one’s third bucket hat.
It’s also the one I’m most likely to get another ball of and knit a new version of, because it’s the snuggest of all the hats I’ve made. It’s amazing how variable gauge is, even with the same needles, the same recipe, the same knitter, and the same yarn. Not that I’d toss this. Just that some days I might want to be looser. Who knows?
It’s only June, but I’m already thinking about the upcoming fall and winter, and the things I need for it. Socks, of course. Lots and lots of socks. Not as sexy as Neo and his guns, but you know, warmer. With 99% less carnage.
I’ve signed up for the Summer of Socks, and I’m of course also in the Sockmania knitalong, which I haven’t forgotten – June’s edition will be begun on the 21st because we got extra time to finish it due to the pattern delay.
Yes, I’m being optimistic in thinking I can finish both socks within two weeks. Don’t harsh my mellow. Especially since this plan ensures only three weeks to do July’s pair.
